Tip for March 2011 – Strategic Tweeting

I use all of today\’s social media to promote CDF training with the LDW Group: Face Book, YouTube, Slideshare, Prezi, Blogging, LinkedIn, Plaxo and Twitter. It took me a while to see the value of using my Twitter account to share info about the training. I did not have time to sit on my computer or my phone and do the 140 max character tweets every few minutes.

I learned a very valuable tip at a PR conference last year — SocialOomph.com. (Thanks for the tip Lee Cole, Director of Communications-Pickerington School District). In addition to promoting the training using each of the other methods, I now sit down on Sunday afternoons and schedule all of my tweets for the entire week and let them roll! Since I\’ve been using this free scheduling tool, I have increased my followers by 15% each week.

So I\’ve coined the term \”strategic tweeting.\” I am a witness that Twitter can also be used to effectively promote your trainings or events. In my research for this tip I found several other Twitter schedulers.
Some include:

 Twaitter
 Hootsuite
 Twuffer
 TweetLater
 Pluggio
 AutoTweeter
 FutureTweets
 TwitRobot
 TwitResponse
 LaterBro
 TwitMessenger
 TweetLater

Many of these resources are free. So go forth and set up a free account and get those tweets going!
